It was SO wonderful to meet these precious girls and their parents on the first day of Fall! Camp Nathanael is a beautiful campus and it truly felt like Fall with leaves on the ground and a slight drizzle. Harper and Saylor are two of the SWEETEST sisters. I loved how Harper took such gentle care of Saylor. She kissed her cheeks unprompted and giggled at how adorable her sis was throughout this family session! Saylor is such a happy 5 month old. I loved hearing her coo and seeing her smile at her mom and dad as they lovingly spoke to her during photos. These girls have such a special bond that I know will only strengthen and grow as they do!
The Howards are such a special family to me! I absolutely fell in love with Brittany and her boys last year during my Celebrating Motherhood sessions. It was so wonderful to meet Matt as well this time for their family session, and photograph everyone together at Camp Nathanael in Hindman Kentucky! Graham and Grayson are the sweetest boys EVER. I love Grayson's curiosity and Graham always keeps me laughing! Brittany and Matt are wonderful parents who guide their boys so gently. What a sweet time documenting their love and connection on this warm Summer evening.
First time parenthood is such a beautiful season. Our lives are changed forever in a very good way. When this family first reached out to me about their newborn session, through teary eyes I read just how life changing and special this photo session would be for them. Jason and Vanessa waited a long time for sweet Rylee. She is truly a blessing, a miracle, and could not be more perfect!
Braxton is such a special boy! From the day he came into the Bell's home in Hindman Kentucky, everyone who met him fell in love. Over the last three years he has grown into a fun and sweet boy with an irresistible mischievous smile. He loves his scooper, tools, construction, his toy weed-eater, and made a perfect addition to the Bell family. To everyone who knows them, Braxton was already a Bell. This just made it official. I would not have missed his Gotcha Day celebration for the world! Photographing it made it even more special. Congratulations friends!
Welcome sweet baby Noah! I love in home sessions, especially for newborns! The whole family can relax and what better place to document first memories than in the home?
Noah was an absolute little angel and barely made a peep the whole session. His big brother and sister are smitten and he is adored by his momma and daddy. He is going to grow up surrounded by SO much love.
I'm so thankful to have been there to photograph this precious and fleeting season for the Cornett family!
Jessica and Jason were SUCH a joy to work with at their maternity portrait session in Knott County Kentucky! If there were ever a glowing expecting momma, Jessica is it. How stunning is she in this beautiful lace dress?! Jason kept me laughing the entire session even as I was being attacked by mosquitos and deer flies. Oh my goodness. Their love for each other is just precious and it’s going to overflow so beautifully onto this baby girl when she makes her arrival soon.
I always enjoy meeting new families, and this was no exception. I'm so glad that I was able to connect with Mara and Leyton and meet to photograph a Celebrating Motherhood session for them! Hearing the story of how they had waited and waited for these sweet baby boys (and then were blessed doubly!) made this session such a special one! Motherhood is such a precious treasure and I loved watching Mara soaking up this season with Kainen and Krew.

This is the second year in a row that I've photographed this precious family for a Celebrating Motherhood session and it was so sweet to see how the boys had grown and how they had grown as a family. Again- just as last year- I left their session with such a full and happy heart from seeing how deeply and fully this momma loves and cherishes her children. The way she gently speaks with them, looks at them, and laughs at them. Nikki's motherhood is one to be celebrated!

If you've looked at my work a lot, you've probably noticed that I really like pretty light. We chose to have Kara's maternity session on top of the mountain close to sunset time so that I could get that beautiful golden glow that I knew would pair so well with a beautiful glowing momma. When I saw the flowering bushes, I knew we were in the right place!
I am so excited for this family to welcome another addition to their family. I can't wait to meet you Allie Reese!
When Lenora contacted me about photographing a Celebrating Motherhood session with her two foster (soon to be adopted!) children and grandchild around her childhood home, I knew right away that it would be VERY special. I was right. Lenora talked with me a bit about her story and how fostering has been a light in the dark for her and it shows through her warmth and love toward her sweet boys. All three of her little ones adore her and I can see why! She is such a strong, caring, and amazing person. Our short time together was such a memorable one!
The time we spent re-visitng memories made in this place will live on through these photos and I'm sure she will have lots of stories to tell her babies and grand babies when they look back at these images together.
It was such a warm and sunny Spring evening the night that I photographed this session. Absolutely beautiful and a perfect evening to celebrate motherhood with Beth and her girls! Anyone that knows Beth even a little bit knows what a fantastic momma she is. The friendship between her and Callie is the stuff of movies (real life Gilmore Girls here) and the way she lovingly cares for Cora is so special. Beth is such a kind woman with the biggest heart and I'm so honored to have captured this sweet season of motherhood for her. I know that when her girls look back on these images they will remember just how much they are and have always been loved.
This session is featured on Southern Motherhood.
Experiencing Hynlee's first few hours "earthside" with the Rafferty family filled my heart to the brim. When I got to Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center to meet Katie and Austin, their 2 year old, Nolan, had not met his brand new sister yet! One of my favorite things about being a family photographer is telling stories through my images. During this lifestyle hospital newborn session, I was able to photograph and document this family's transition from a family of three to a family of four and how beautiful it was!
I simply could not love this family more! If there was ever an example of motherhood worth celebrating, this is it. Ashlee has been a precious example of motherhood to me. She continually encourages me with her capacity to love selflessly and patiently. She has waited faithfully for the adoption of two of her children and it is a joy to see them thriving and being loved so deeply. Aside from that, she is a precious friend and it was so special for me to be able to photograph this season of motherhood for her.

I LOVE connecting with new people and meeting new families. It is absolutely one of my favorite things about being a family photographer. Amy and I had connected several times online through my private Facebook group, so I really kind of felt like I knew her already before our session even began. What a pleasure it was to meet Amy in person as well as the rest of her beautiful and sweet family this weekend! I mean, come on check out that teeny little man bun! The cutest. When Amy booked her maternity session we were really hoping that we would get some snow, and our wish came true on this beautiful wintry day! I know Bentley and Thane are going to be amazing big brothers to their little sister on the way, and what a gift and precious addition she will be!
I'm so glad that the Fall foliage hung on just a bit longer for the Adair family's photo session! We explored a new area of Jenny Wiley State Resort Park and found the perfect little trail that led out to a view over the lake. I loved the closeness between Ellie, Abbie, and Levi. Also, Levi thought that all of my silliness was hilarious so that was super cute and fun. Jason and Mandy are so obviously in love and I adore seeing that in parents. Mimi was such a big piece of this family's heart and nothing makes MY heart warmer than to see a loving grandparent have such a big part in a family. I hope you enjoy their sweet story just as much as I did!
I have been wanting to do a campfire session for such a long time! Sitting around the fire with friends and family is one of the most bonding experiences and I have longed to capture that. I was so excited when the Knapp family jumped on board with planning a fun evening. My goal during a session is to capture real moments, a memory, an experience. I love when a family takes time to create that atmosphere and I can be there to photograph all the real goodness.
I was so excited to photograph this session! Gorgeous location, beautiful people, and surprise bonus- it was perfect weather and the light was amazing. I can not believe that this scenery is basically in my backyard and I have never been over the mountain to see it. Pine Mountain, just wow!
I met Carrie when she was a co-worker with my husband at the Hindman Settlement School and just had an immediate connection with her. It was wonderful to watch her blossom into motherhood and to see baby Ophelia grow and change. Matt is a sweetheart and as you can see, a loving husband and daddy to all of his girls! Teagun is just a ball of personality and kept me laughing the entire time. Add to the love, Carrie and Matt are also super talented artists and musicians so it was fun to photograph them in their element as well. Just an honor all around to be able to capture and tell this family's story through images!
