When I arrived at the McCoy family's home early on a Saturday, little Tate was still sleeping! His mommy, Andrea, went upstairs to gently wake him while I was there to capture all the sweet morning snuggles. This is one of the unique things about Legacy Sessions, being in a family's own home- a photographer would otherwise never be able to document this moment! Tate was a sweetheart and my presence was mostly gone un-noticed while he soaked up all of his momma's lovin'. Andrea made the family french toast while Derek and the kids watched tv and snuggled. Teeth were brushed and then the remainder of the morning was spent reading books, cuddling, playing Monopoly, wrestling with daddy, and playing outside.
6 month old Isla June without a doubt makes the Reed family's world turn. I love the way that Sam lights up when he holds her. The way that Amy smiles when she looks at her. It was such a delight to be there with them during Isla's first Christmas season, beginning a new tradition of baking cookies together!
After I arrived, Sam gave Isla her bottle while Amy began preparing for cookie making. When we came into the kitchen Isla was babbling in excitement, seeming to know that something fun was about to happen! She dug her little fingers into the dough while kicking her arms and legs and she loved her first bite of icing. Sam and Amy watched lovingly (while making sure she didn't eat a can of icing and pour out all of the sprinkles!) and I watched them with so much joy in my heart it could burst!
Seeing families love each other the way that this family does, while creating new memories in front of my camera is an amazing thing. I am so thankful for the time that I was able to spend with the Reeds during this Legacy Session and always!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Casey home! Legacy sessions are without a doubt one of my favorite things to photograph. I love being able to come into a home where a family makes their most important and special memories, and photograph those things. The relaxed environment and freedom to "just be" is so unique and really allows the Client to let out their true selves. It was so much fun to see Easton make a gingerbread house with his mom and dad and run around and play in his Christmas pjs. These will definitely be memories that both Easton, Bethany, and Wes will cherish for years to come.

Authenticity. This is what I strive for in every single session that I photograph. Capturing what it is that makes you, you. Legacy Sessions provide a unique opportunity for me to come into your home and do just that. To photograph your legacy of love that will be passed on through images to your children and grandchildren and even to a future you.
Photographing the Smith family on an ordinary Saturday was such a pleasure, and I left with a very full heart. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than the ordinary moments that collectively make up the life of a family.
