When Charity reached out to me about photographing their family Christmas session I knew it was going to be so fun! Her vision for the session was Vogue inspired and lovely. I absolutely love the outfit choices they went with. I mean, do they look like they’ve just walked off the red carpet or what?! We had so much fun shooting in their cozy new home and getting to know each other.
What a sweet little in-home Christmas session with the Napiers! Their lovely house near Hazard Kentucky was so festive and cute, their kids precious, and just a beautiful family! I LOVE in-home sessions and this was no exception. I know their kids will treasure these photos taken in the same home they have and will continue to celebrate the season in for years to come.
The weekend after Thanksgiving, I held my first ever Christmas mini-sessions at the Hindman Settlement School’s May Stone Gathering Place in Hindman, Kentucky. We had SUCH a great time getting in the Christmas Spirit. There’s not much better than snuggling in cozy blankets and pj’s and having Yoders cookies and milk. It was bound to be a great time.
It was so nice seeing old clients and friends, newborn clients who had grown so much, and meeting new friends! Everyone looked amazing and coordinated their Christmas attire so well! I’m already looking forward to next time. Merry Christmas friends!
One of my favorite things is watching couples become first time parents. Having gone through this phase of life myself, I know firsthand what a transformative time it is. Women become more nurturing, more loving and men melt at the sight of their babies. Having known Brock and Rachel for a long time and seeing them interact with their nieces and nephews, I already knew what wonderful parents they would be to little Belle when she arrived. Seeing them as parents is such a special thing and I’m so thankful that they chose me to document this time in their lives as parenthood is only beginning.
The Reeds are some of my very favorite people in the whole world- and if you’ve met them, you know why! Amy and Sam are incredible parents and just all around wonderful people. Isla is THE cutest little spunky girl and I adore her! I could not be more honored that they trust me to document seasons of life in their sweet, sweet family!
What a sweet time spent with the Catrons for a family session at Camp Nathanael on this crisp Fall day. Twins, Harper and Grayson, were absolutely precious! Grayson was not super into holding his sister’s hand or giving her kisses (EW!) but would you know it? I love their darling personalities and how much they’re loved by their mommy and daddy!
It’s always wonderful to spend time with these special people! They exude love both inwardly toward their own family and outwardly to their friends and community. Their friendship has been a blessing to me for a long time as I know they have been to so many. It was a joy to photograph them for the second time! Enjoy their sweet gallery!
It was SO wonderful to meet these precious girls and their parents on the first day of Fall! Camp Nathanael is a beautiful campus and it truly felt like Fall with leaves on the ground and a slight drizzle. Harper and Saylor are two of the SWEETEST sisters. I loved how Harper took such gentle care of Saylor. She kissed her cheeks unprompted and giggled at how adorable her sis was throughout this family session! Saylor is such a happy 5 month old. I loved hearing her coo and seeing her smile at her mom and dad as they lovingly spoke to her during photos. These girls have such a special bond that I know will only strengthen and grow as they do!
The Howards are such a special family to me! I absolutely fell in love with Brittany and her boys last year during my Celebrating Motherhood sessions. It was so wonderful to meet Matt as well this time for their family session, and photograph everyone together at Camp Nathanael in Hindman Kentucky! Graham and Grayson are the sweetest boys EVER. I love Grayson's curiosity and Graham always keeps me laughing! Brittany and Matt are wonderful parents who guide their boys so gently. What a sweet time documenting their love and connection on this warm Summer evening.
First time parenthood is such a beautiful season. Our lives are changed forever in a very good way. When this family first reached out to me about their newborn session, through teary eyes I read just how life changing and special this photo session would be for them. Jason and Vanessa waited a long time for sweet Rylee. She is truly a blessing, a miracle, and could not be more perfect!
Braxton is such a special boy! From the day he came into the Bell's home in Hindman Kentucky, everyone who met him fell in love. Over the last three years he has grown into a fun and sweet boy with an irresistible mischievous smile. He loves his scooper, tools, construction, his toy weed-eater, and made a perfect addition to the Bell family. To everyone who knows them, Braxton was already a Bell. This just made it official. I would not have missed his Gotcha Day celebration for the world! Photographing it made it even more special. Congratulations friends!
Welcome sweet baby Noah! I love in home sessions, especially for newborns! The whole family can relax and what better place to document first memories than in the home?
Noah was an absolute little angel and barely made a peep the whole session. His big brother and sister are smitten and he is adored by his momma and daddy. He is going to grow up surrounded by SO much love.
I'm so thankful to have been there to photograph this precious and fleeting season for the Cornett family!
I always enjoy meeting new families, and this was no exception. I'm so glad that I was able to connect with Mara and Leyton and meet to photograph a Celebrating Motherhood session for them! Hearing the story of how they had waited and waited for these sweet baby boys (and then were blessed doubly!) made this session such a special one! Motherhood is such a precious treasure and I loved watching Mara soaking up this season with Kainen and Krew.

A children's book that my daughter and I checked out from the library initially inspired this session. I can't remember the name of it now, and have googled to no avail- but it was a beautifully illustrated book about a child who ventured into the forest at night. Throughout the book, the child is carrying a flashlight. He lights up scenes in the dark woods. Where the light is not falling it almost seems a bit scary, but in the bright triangle of light where the flashlight shines are lovely forest scenes with woodland creatures, ferns, and mushrooms. Something about the woods is so mysteriously beautiful. I wanted this session to portray that. Nature, beauty, and mystery.
