Schedule

Note: Sections with ** will include a time of hands on shooting with help from Liz.

11-11:30 | Mingle + Coffee

Let’s get to know each other a bit before getting started! Be ready to tell us a little bit about you! How long you’ve been shooting/interested in photography, what are your favorite things to photograph, and what type of camera you use.

11:30- 11:45 | How it Works

Ever wondered HOW what you’re looking at in front of you actually gets on the back of the camera? I think knowing the technical parts of how your camera works is the best foundation for going forward and learning how to use it. Just some good photographer knowledge!

**11:45- 1:00 | Exposure Triangle + Using Camera Settings

F-stop, ISO, shutter speed (the exposure triangle). Sound like a foreign language? These are the very basic concepts that you NEED to know to take your photography to the next level. These three things work together in every photo that you take (even if you’re currently shooting on auto). The difference in knowing what they are, how they work together, and when/how to use them in different ways will give you the freedom to choose what your photo will look like instead of having the camera choose for you. PS… your camera on auto only has one look. With the knowledge of these concepts, your options are limitless.

**1:00- 2:00 | Composition + Storytelling

Knowing how to take a photo will only get you so far. Having a plan and purpose for your photo is what makes an otherwise ordinary photo, extraordinary.

2:00- 2:30 | Lunch + Editing Demonstration

Enjoy a yummy lunch while watching a short demonstration on how to easily enhance your photos!

**2:30- 3:30| Finding and Using Good Light

It’s nearly impossible to take a good photograph without knowledge of light. This is one of the single most important bits of knowledge that you need!

3:30- 4:00 | Open Question Time + Conclusion

I’ll be an open book during the entire workshop! If there is a question that you’ve had in mind that you haven’t had an opportunity to ask yet- this will be a great time to get an in-depth answer.

Bonus!

In addition to our day of learning together, signing up and participating in this workshop will give you access to a private Facebook group only for participants. This will be a great place to continue growing and connecting. You can post photos with feedback, share your progress, and continue asking questions!

This is where you’re going! Detailed directions in signup.
